Abstract Background The incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is rising worldwide though it remains unknown how race and ethnicity mediate health-care utilization. We aimed to better define this relationship in systematic review meta-analysis. Methods explored the impact or on likelihood needing an IBD-related surgery, hospitalization, emergency department (ED) visit.
